Album von der Jugend

We have compiled recordings of our favorite works for you on this CD, and we hope you will enjoy the selection.

After the two early Baroque pieces by William Byrd and Giovanni Gabrieli, we present a high Baroque piece by Tomaso Albinoni, who was very much revered by Johann Sebastian Bach (and also by us), which is followed by a Bach Cantata. And of course we had to include an original composition from the Romantic period. Victor Ewald's Quintet No. 3 happens to be our personal favorite from his four works for brass quintet.

We wanted to include Debussy's impressionistic "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair" because we are very fond of this arrangement.  We also didn't want to neglect John Cheetham's fantastic Scherzo (so very worthy of inclusion), and of course everyone's favorite, the Beatles' "Yesterday", which sounds great in every possible instrumentation. We are extremely proud of the recording with the renowned Radio Symphony Orchestra of Stuttgart, the SWR, conducted by Patrick Strub.
